Donation terms and refund policy

How donations to Scapex Foundation are received, receipted, used and — in the rare case it is needed — refunded. Effective 17 September 2026.

How to donate

Online payment is not yet live on this website. Donations are currently made by bank transfer to the Foundation's account; write to info@scapexfoundation.com or call +91 99255 22674 and we will share the account details directly. We will never ask for your card or account details by email, and we will never solicit a donation by an unsolicited phone call. If someone does so in our name, please tell us.

Receipts and tax

Every donation receives a receipt carrying the Foundation's name, PAN, registration numbers under Sections 12A and 80G of the Income Tax Act, the amount, the date and the mode of payment. Donations of more than ₹2,000 must be made by a mode other than cash to qualify for deduction under Section 80G. We file the annual statement of donations (Form 10BD) so that your certificate (Form 10BE) is generated in your income-tax account. Whether a deduction is available to you depends on your own tax position; in particular, an individual filing under the new tax regime receives no deduction under Section 80G. Our guide explains this in full.

Use of donations

Donations are applied to the Foundation's charitable objects. Where you have specified a programme, we apply the donation to that programme; if the programme is fully funded or cannot proceed, we will tell you and ask whether you wish to redirect the gift or have it returned. The board has set a floor of 85% of annual expenditure on direct programme delivery, reported in the audited accounts.

Refunds

A donation is a voluntary gift and is generally not refundable once received. We will, however, refund a donation in full where it was made in error — a duplicated transfer, a wrong amount, or a transfer intended for someone else — provided you write to us within 30 days of the transaction with the transaction reference. Refunds are made to the originating account only, within 15 working days of our confirming the error. Where a receipt has already been issued, it is cancelled and the donation is excluded from our Form 10BD filing.

Foreign contributions

Scapex Foundation is not registered under the Foreign Contribution (Regulation) Act, 2010 and does not accept donations from foreign sources, including Indian citizens' foreign-currency accounts. If a contribution from a foreign source is received in error it is returned to the originating account.

Complaints

If anything about a donation has gone wrong, write to info@scapexfoundation.com marked “Donation complaint”, or directly to a director at prem.panchal@scapexfoundation.com. A director acknowledges within three working days and responds within fifteen. Complaints and their outcomes are reported to the board.
