Gujarat government schemes for girls, students and families

• Girl child must be born on or after 2 August 2019.
• Combined annual income of the couple (parents) must be Rs 2,00,000 or less — the same ceiling applies in both rural and urban areas.
• Benefit is available to all daughters among the couple's first three children (i.e. the birth-order cap is on the couple's total children, not only on daughters).
• The mother must be 18 years of age or older at the time of the girl's birth.
• Family must be a resident of Gujarat state.
• No caste or category restriction — the scheme is open to all castes and communities within the income ceiling.
• The application must be submitted within one year of the girl's birth.

• Birth certificate of the beneficiary girl
• Aadhaar card of the beneficiary girl (where issued)

• Marriage registration certificate of the parents
• Income certificate issued by the gram panchayat, the Mamlatdar, or the Taluka Development Officer

• Only for applications made by an orphanage / registered institution: the organisation's registration certificate under the Societies Registration Act 1860 or the Gujarat Public Trusts Act 1950

• Obtain the prescribed 'Vahali Dikri' application form — download it from the WCD forms page (https://wcd.gujarat.gov.in/applicationform, direct PDF: https://wcd.gujarat.gov.in/uploads/pdf/UHpJbtCmCUhBUAH-Qn61GTPCxwpoiM80.pdf) or collect it from the local Anganwadi / ICDS or panchayat office.
• Fill the form and attach all supporting documents listed above, including the Annexure-2 self-declaration.
• Submit the completed form within ONE YEAR of the girl's date of birth. Late applications are not accepted.
• Submission point (per Patan district administration, patan.nic.in): the Village Computer Entrepreneur (VCE) at the gram panchayat, or the Taluka Mamlatdar office. The form itself is addressed to the Commissioner, Women and Child Development Department, Gujarat State, Gandhinagar, and is verified through the District Women and Child Development office.
• Once sanctioned, each instalment is credited to the linked bank account when the girl reaches the relevant milestone (Class 1 admission, Class 9 admission, age 18).

• SOURCES DISAGREE ON THE INSTALMENTS. The Patan district page (patan.nic.in/scheme/vahli-dikri-yojana) states Rs 4,000 at birth, Rs 6,000 at Class 1, Rs 10,000 at Class 9 and Rs 1,00,000 at marriage. The WCD department's own page states Rs 4,000 at Class 1, Rs 6,000 at Class 9 and Rs 1,00,000 at age 18. This JSON uses the WCD department version because WCD administers the scheme. Families should confirm the current milestone schedule at their district WCD office before relying on it.
• The same Patan page says 'first two girl children'; the WCD page says all daughters among the first three children. The WCD wording is used here.
• The income ceiling of Rs 2,00,000 is the figure published by WCD. Some news and aggregator sites repeat older or revised figures; no government notification of a revision was found as of September 2026.
• Some third-party pages advertise 'free education and insurance coverage' under this scheme. That was not found on any government source and should not be repeated.
• No online self-service application portal for Vahali Dikri could be verified. The scheme appears to remain an offline/assisted paper application. Do not send families to any third-party 'apply online' site.

Verified 15 September 2026. Instalment structure (Rs 4,000 / Rs 6,000 / Rs 1,00,000), the Rs 2,00,000 income ceiling, the 2 August 2019 birth cut-off, the mother-aged-18 condition, the 'first three children' rule and the one-year application window all come from the official WCD Gujarat scheme page (https://wcd.gujarat.gov.in/initiativedetails?id=328), read in Gujarati. • The bride must be a resident of Gujarat.
• The bride must belong to a Scheduled Caste (applied for under BCK-55, Director of Scheduled Caste Welfare) or to a Socially & Educationally Backward Class / Economically Backward Class (applied for under BCK-123, Director of Developing Castes Welfare).
• Family annual income must not exceed Rs 6,00,000 — the same ceiling now applies in both rural and urban areas.
• The bride must be at least 18 years old at the time of marriage; the groom must be at least 21 years old.
• A maximum of two daughters per family can receive the benefit.
• The application must be made within two years of the date of marriage.
• Under the SC scheme, a bride who marries in a mass/community marriage may also claim the Satfera Samuh Lagna benefit alongside this one if she meets both schemes' conditions.

The official checklist for this scheme was not published in a form we could verify. Ask at the office named above, or check the official page, before assembling papers.

• Apply online on the e-Samaj Kalyan portal of the Social Justice & Empowerment Department: https://esamajkalyan.gujarat.gov.in — register as a citizen, then select 'Kunwar Bai Nu Mameru Yojana' under the appropriate directorate (Scheduled Caste Welfare for SC applicants; Developing Castes Welfare for SEBC/EBC applicants).
• Upload the scanned supporting documents listed on that service's page and submit within two years of the marriage date.
• Applications can also be filed with help from the office of the District Social Welfare Officer / Director of Scheduled Caste Welfare or Director of Developing Castes Welfare, Gandhinagar (SC Welfare: +91 79 23253229 / 23253235; Developing Castes Welfare: +91 79 23253245).

• Sanctioned amount is credited by DBT to the bride's bank account.

• THE ENGLISH VERSIONS OF THE OFFICIAL PAGES ARE OUT OF DATE. The English BCK-123 page still shows Rs 10,000 with income limits of Rs 1,20,000 (rural) / Rs 1,50,000 (urban), and the English BCK-55 page still shows Rs 10,000 with Rs 47,000 (rural) / Rs 68,000 (urban). The Gujarati versions of the same pages show the current Rs 12,000 and the Rs 6,00,000 ceiling. Several third-party sites copy the stale English figures. Always quote the Gujarati page or the e-Samaj Kalyan service page.
• documents_required is null because no official document checklist could be retrieved. The official list is published at https://esamajkalyan.gujarat.gov.in/ApplicationDocuments/SEBC/KBNMApplicationDocuments.pdf, which could not be fetched during this research. Do not publish a guessed list — link families to that PDF or to the e-Samaj Kalyan service page instead.
• The Patan district page states that the benefit is not available for a remarriage. This condition was not found on the SJED directorate pages and should be treated as unconfirmed.
• The Patan district page attributes this scheme to the Women and Child Development Department. That appears to be an error — SJED administers it. Do not send families to a WCD office for this scheme.
• There are parallel marriage-assistance schemes for other categories in Gujarat (e.g. for Scheduled Tribes and for minorities). Make sure the family applies under the directorate matching their caste certificate.

Verified 15 September 2026. The Rs 12,000 amount, the Rs 6,00,000 income ceiling for both rural and urban areas, and the two-daughters-per-family cap come from the Gujarati-language versions of the two official SJED directorate scheme pages: BCK-123 (Developing Castes Welfare) at https://sje.gujarat.gov.in/ddcw/schemes/1568?lang=gujarati and BCK-55 (Scheduled Caste Welfare) at https://sje.gujarat.gov.in/dscw/schemes/1613?lang=gujarati. The bride-18 / groom-21 age rule, the two-year filing window and the Satfera Samuh Lagna overlap come from the BCK-55 Gujarati page. The Rs 12,000 figure and its application to marriages solemnised on or after 01/04/2021 are corroborated by the Patan district administration page (https://patan.nic.in/scheme/kunvarbai-no-mameru-yojana/). The e-Samaj Kalyan portal is named as the application route on the SJED portal listing.

• Must be a domicile of Gujarat and studying in a recognised institution in Gujarat.
• Annual family income from all sources must be less than Rs 6,00,000. The income certificate is valid for three years from issue.
• For admission to a diploma course: 80 percentile or above in the Class 10 board examination.
• For admission to a degree / undergraduate professional course: 80 percentile or above in the Class 12 board examination (science or general stream).
• For diploma-to-degree (lateral entry) admission: minimum 65% marks at diploma level.
• The scholarship is renewable year to year subject to continued enrolment and satisfactory progress; renewal applications are filed separately from fresh applications.
• No caste or category restriction — MYSY is open to all categories within the income and merit conditions.

• Complete online registration first, choosing the correct application type — Fresh, Renewal, or Delayed. Login credentials are sent by SMS.
• Log in and fill the application form, entering board, stream, seat number and passing year exactly as on the marksheet.
• Upload scanned copies of all required documents in JPG or PDF format, using the prescribed formats for the income certificate, self-declaration and institute certificate, which are downloadable at https://mysy.guj.nic.in/frm_stu_doc_list.aspx
• Submit the application online, then complete document verification at the designated help centre before the verification deadline announced each year (both the application and the verification deadlines are published on the portal's notice board).
• Track the outcome through the 'Student Status' option at https://mysy.guj.nic.in/Frm_open_stat.aspx

• NONE OF THE MYSY RUPEE AMOUNTS OR CUT-OFFS IN THIS ENTRY COULD BE CONFIRMED ON A GOVERNMENT PAGE during this research; the official MYSY GR page (https://mysy.guj.nic.in/frm_gr.aspx), the ACPC MYSY PDF and education.gujarat.gov.in were all unreachable. Before publishing these figures, re-check them against the current-year 'Instructions to Students' PDF on the MYSY notice board.
• The merit cut-off is 80 PERCENTILE, not 80 percent. Many websites — and some banks' scheme pages — wrongly write '80%'. A student with, say, 78% marks can still be above the 80th percentile. Do not tell families they need 80% marks.
• Tuition assistance is 50% of the actual prescribed tuition fee OR the cap, whichever is lower — students will not automatically receive the headline figure.
• Sources disagree on the books-and-instruments amount for medical students: indiascholarships.in says Rs 10,000, jaagrukbharat says Rs 1,000. Rs 10,000 is used here as it is consistent with the rest of the slab structure, but it is unconfirmed.
• Medical students are sometimes described as receiving 'up to Rs 10 lakh over five years'. That is the arithmetic total of five annual instalments, not a separate lump sum.
• Application and verification deadlines change every academic year and are announced only on the MYSY notice board. Do not publish a fixed date — link to the portal.
• Renewal applicants must apply each year; a first-year sanction is not automatic for later years.

Verified 15 September 2026. The portal URL, the application-type options (Fresh / Renewal / Delayed), the existence of separate online-application and document-verification deadlines, and the downloadable document formats (income certificate, self-declaration, institute certificate, non-ITR self-declaration) were read directly from the official portal at https://mysy.guj.nic.in/ and https://mysy.guj.nic.in/frm_stu_doc_list.aspx. The eligibility thresholds (80 percentile at Class 10 for diploma, 80 percentile at Class 12 for degree, 65% for diploma-to-degree, family income under Rs 6,00,000, three-year validity of the income certificate) and the assistance amounts (Rs 2,00,000 / Rs 50,000 / Rs 25,000 / Rs 10,000 tuition caps at 50% of fee, Rs 1,200 x 10 months hostel, Rs 10,000 / Rs 5,000 / Rs 3,000 books-and-instruments) could NOT be read from a government page — the official PDFs at acpc.gujarat.gov.in and education.gujarat.gov.in were unreachable. • Must have passed the Class 10 board examination with 50% or more marks.
• Must take admission to the science stream in Class 11 and continue in Class 12.
• Open to both boys and girls (unlike Namo Lakshmi Yojana, which is for girls only — a science-stream girl can receive both).
• Must be studying in a school recognised by the Gujarat Secondary and Higher Secondary Education Board or by CBSE — government, grant-in-aid or self-financed schools are all covered.
• Income condition: students who studied Classes 9 and 10 in a government or grant-in-aid school qualify without an income test; students from self-financed (private) schools qualify only if annual family income is Rs 6,00,000 or less. (See caveats — some sources state a flat Rs 6,00,000 ceiling for everyone.)
• Receiving another scholarship does not disqualify a student; this assistance is given in addition.
• Must be a resident of Gujarat.

The official checklist for this scheme was not published in a form we could verify. Ask at the office named above, or check the official page, before assembling papers.

• There is no individual student application form on a public portal. Eligible students are enrolled by their SCHOOL.
• The school's nodal officer registers eligible science-stream students on the state education department's student-data system (Child Tracking System / Vidya Samiksha Kendra), and the District Education Officer verifies the entries.
• The student (or parent) must give the school an Aadhaar-seeded, DBT-enabled bank account of the mother (or of the student where the mother is deceased) so that the instalments can be credited.
• Students and parents should approach the school principal or the school's Namo schemes nodal teacher to confirm enrolment and to correct bank or Aadhaar details.
• Schools log in to the Namo Schemes payment portal at https://namopayments.gujaratvsk.org/school-login to process and track payments.

• NO GOVERNMENT PAGE COULD BE READ DIRECTLY for this scheme. education.gujarat.gov.in, the Finance Department budget PDF and the myScheme scheme page all failed to return readable content during this research. Every figure here rests on Gujarat news reporting of the government's own announcement plus aggregator sites. Re-confirm with the school or the District Education Officer before publishing.
• SOURCES DISAGREE ON THE INCOME TEST. DeshGujarat reports a split rule (no income test for students who did Classes 9-10 in government or grant-in-aid schools; Rs 6,00,000 ceiling only for self-financed school students). PolicyBazaar reports a flat Rs 6,00,000 ceiling for all applicants. The split rule is used here because it traces to the launch reporting, but a family near the Rs 6 lakh line must check with the school.
• One report phrases the benefit as 'Rs 10,000 in Class 11 and Rs 15,000 in Class 12'. That is the same money described differently — the Class 12 figure bundles the Rs 10,000 stipend with the Rs 5,000 board-exam bonus. Total remains Rs 25,000.
• One secondary report rendered the board-exam bonus as Rs 500 rather than Rs 5,000; Rs 5,000 is correct because it is the only figure that reconciles with the stated Rs 25,000 total.
• documents_required is null because no official document checklist was found. Because schools enrol students directly from existing school records, the practical requirement appears to be an Aadhaar-seeded DBT bank account and correct school records, not a document bundle — but this is not confirmed on a government source.
• Beware of third-party sites (e.g. gujaratportals.com) that list income limits of Rs 1,20,000 rural / Rs 1,50,000 urban and an 'apply online at the Education Department website' process for this scheme. Those figures belong to a different scheme and are wrong for Namo Saraswati.
• Do not confuse this with Namo Lakshmi Yojana, the parallel Rs 50,000 four-year scheme for girls in Classes 9-12.
